Jacob Jin, Ph.D., CEO
Dr. Jin has integrated industry, academic, management, and investment experience across Asia, America, and the Middle East. He has been dedicated to commercializing clean technology in the fossil industry, and industrializing clean energy. His investment portfolio includes biotechnology, geothermal energy, smart microgrid, hydrocarbon exploration & production, etc. He worked at BP America, Weatherford, and Blade Energy Partners, Energy & Geoscience Institute at the University of Utah. Dr. Jin received his Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Michael Pavia, Ph.D., CTO
Dr. Michael Pavia has been in the biotech/pharmaceutical and energy sectors for 30 years. He most recently served as Chief Technology Officer of Glori Energy, a company focused on using microbiology to increase oil production from existing wells. He is also a member of the board of directors of Azevan Pharmaceuticals, an expert witness in intellectual property litigation cases, and served seven years on the board of directors and Executive Committee of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Lehigh University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Samuel, VP Operations
Michael has 15+ years experience within the energy sector initially with biofuel conversion of raw materials and currently with enhanced oil recovery. Previously he was the Operations Manager for a publicly traded oil producing and oilfield service company. Prior to that Michael worked as a Senior Engineer in the field of C1 fermentation for ethanol production. Additionally, he was also integral to several technologies in the biological conversion of waste streams to methane. Michael holds a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Iowa and has completed Graduate Mechanical Engineering coursework at Iowa State University.
